RPR Releases 2018 Race Schedule, NHRA SpringNationals return April 20-22, 2018

Baytown, TX- Royal Purple Raceway, Southeast Texas largest multi-purpose motorsports facility, announced its calendar of race events for the 2018 season.  The schedule is highlighted by the 31st Anniversary NHRA SpringNationals, April 20-22, 2018. NHRA race tickets go on sale next month.

TX2K, the Super Bowl of Street Car Racing, gets the race season off to a fast start with the TX2K18 Roll & Drag Race Nationals, March 15-18. This unique event pits the world’s fastest exotic and domestic street cars against each other over a four-day marathon of competitions, including roll racing, heads-up drag racing, burn out contest, dyno competition, and car show. The following weekend NHRA’s South Central Division kicks off its 2018 season with the NHRA Texas Sportsman Challenge, March 23-25. Over 500 sportsman competitors from across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma will call Royal Purple Raceway home for three action packed days of NHRA Championship Drag Racing.

The E.T. Bracket Racing Series will continue anchoring the monthly racing program at Royal Purple Raceway. This is the training ground where sportsman racers can duel it out over a 6-month stretch for the year-end track championship. The opening weekend kicks off March 10-11, and continues May 5-6, June 2-3, July 7-8, August 4-5, and concludes with the Series Finals August 18-19.

In addition, the schedule features two Import Face Off events March 4 and October 21, the Top Ten After Dark Series, March 31, April 28, May 19, July 28, August 25, and September 29, the Houston Performance Truck Shootout, April 7, LS Nationals, July 14, and the Paul Walker Memorial Car Show September 8.  The season concludes with the popular October Truck Madness Drag & Truck Show Saturday, October 27.

Royal Purple Raceway’s Drag Strip is open every Friday night beginning March 2nd for Legal Street Racing.  Anyone with a valid driver’s license and a street legal car or certified race vehicle can make unlimited passes down the fastest quarter-mile drag strip for just $20.



Royal Purple Raceway, formerly Houston Raceway Park, is a 400-acre racing complex located in Baytown, Texas.
